Post subject: My brother's been hospitalized

My brother Jason (you know him as Wrecks) fell against an engine stand on saturday night and broke a couple of his ribs. He was sore on sunday, but otherwise alright. He was determined to come into work today (Monday) because it was the first day of his new job. I work at the same place too.
Long story short, by afternoon coffee he was in pretty bad shape. His chest, neck and face were swelling up and his voice was sounding funny. I took him to the hospital emergency at 3 pm. After 2 hours of waiting the doctor saw him and immediately confirmed that he also has a punctured lung which is causing a build up of air in his chest cavity and soft tissues in his neck and face.
He is not short of breath, but he's hurting from the swelling and the broken ribs. As of 10:30 this evening he's been given some morphine (finally!) and they are about to put tubes in his chest to relieve the pressure.
I actually spoke with him just before they were about to put the tubes in, and he says that he's OK and not to worry, but it's hard not to.
Sorry about the downer topic, but I just wanted you guys to know because Jason thinks very highly of everyone here and I know he'll need some moral support in the days to come.

'Tis good news... Had he been stubborn, and not gone think of the end results. He's in good hands now, and the tubes aren't too big a deal, lungs are like air bags, he'll be up and running in less than a month or two.. I wish he had gone sooner, but ahh well, better late than never eh?

Hey man, I'm sure he's gonna be ok. Don't screw around with stuff like that. You take a hard knock you're supposed to go to the hospital because stuff like this happens.

Best of luck to good ol' wrecksie. Damn, I wish I could have seen the fall!
Since he'll be laid up and not able to fight it, we should get together and write up a 3 page nonsensical story that borders on insanity. You can sit down and read it to him each night as he recovers. Then just as he's falling asleep, you quietly get up, turn out the lights and as you're closing the door you gently nod your head in satisfaction as you whisper lovingly... "Dominated".

F'ing engine stand, eh… I’d stay away from Wrecksy if I was it. He’s gonna wreck it with his bare hands in a sweet revenge once he gets better. They don’t make those Canucks tougher than Wrecks…
