Impressions so far:
Wii Sports -Very simple and intuitive. Not too deep, but then why should it be? These games are meant to be easy to pick up and play and they excel at being just that. Bowling, tennis and golf are my favs. Boxing makes me tired and baseball is a little too simplistic. Still, all in all, it's loads of fun.
Need For Speed: Carbon - Decent game, but trying to drive with the remote as a steering wheel just doesn't work that well. It's better when you use the nunchuk analog stick to steer and the remote to act as a gas pedal. Nice sense of speed, and not bad graphics.
Rayman Raving Rabbids - Just got started playing this, but the mini-games are pretty fun so far. Cow tossing is a definite highlite and so is shooting hordes of bunnies with a plunger gun. Very quirky.
Zelda - Basically haven't done much more than herd some goats so far. Woohoo! Goat herding is fun! Can't wait to go fishing.
The remote and nunchuk controller - I was hesitant at first about how good the control mechanics would be, but they play beautifully and feel good in your hands. No complaints about the controllers.
I'm looking into the virtual console games too. Wouldn't mind picking up
F-zero.

We've only played Wii Sports and Rayman so far.
As far as Wii Sports goes, well, I won't go into any real details, you've covered it all and you get it with the console (for now, there's a rumor of $50 price drop and no sports in a few months) so everyone will get a chance to try it one way or another.
Rayman is a fun "rental" but definitely wouldn't spend $50 on it.
About the only game that looks worth spending on vs. renting right now is Zelda. I will hold off for the time being though, till I can pick it up on eGay for $30.

Ok, well I've put about 10 hours into Zelda now and have only really scratched the surface. I have never played a Zelda game before, and I have to say I'm impressed. There's alot to do and the feeling of accomplishment when you finish a task is palpable. The Wiimote works great. Control is not an issue. Shooting chickens with a sling shot is too funny.
Occasionally it gets a wee bit cutesy, but those occasions are rare. And belive me, the fishing is like a game in itself. More fun than it should be, but I've wasted at least two hours at the ol' fishing hole.
The graphics are pretty decent. It's no PS3, but it isn't Turbo Graphix 16 either. All in all the art direction is very impressive, though some textures are kind of blah. They do the job.
There's very little speech in the game so you'll have to wade through lots of expository text, but that's fine too.
I would recomment this game to anyone with even a passing interest in adventure gaming.
Also, I recently bought Trauma Center: Second Opinion. This game is badass cool. You get to do surgeries on people. In one operation I had to remove glass shards from a guy's arm and abdomen, by using the remote like a pair of forceps. It's fast pased and intense. Highly recommended, because you won't get this experience on any other console. Brilliant use of the remote.

Ya the Internet Channel is VERY cool. We've created bookmarks and use it for things like looking up movie listings or phone numbers without having to get on the "real" comp.
Weirdly enough though can't access the new forums from the Wii and can't access them from the mobile browser on my phone either.

Yeah, I picked up Tiger Woods 2007 and Heatseeker for my Wii. Both are good games, fun and exciting, but frustrating sometimes too. Tiger Woods sometimes doesn't read the club swings right and I end up 100 yards short of my goal and 100 yards to the left. Heatseeker is fun, an arcade version of jet fighting like the old Afterburner game in the arcades. But every time I try to land, I sink the carrier!!! So I'm trying to figure that one out.
Also have downloaded about 15 virtual console games since I got the thing. What a racket, Nintendo must be making a bundle off of old-time reminiscing gamers like me, who say "WOW, It's Mike Tyson's Punch Out! I MUST have that game!" and boom, 5 bucks down the drain to Ninty yet again.
